The Adelaide Hills is famous for its beautiful vineyards and orchards.
Bishops Adelaide Hills through its primary production arm - Bishop Orchards
- is a fully operational cherry orchard, producing over 20 different
varieties of cherry each year.
Cherry production is a year-round operation involving the planting
of new trees, the maintenance of older ones and the picking season which
commences in early December of each year. The trees are covered by nets
to protect the fruit from birds.
Bishop Orchards currently sells directly into the Adelaide market
and also exports interstate through local agents.
Cherries can be purchased direct from Bishop Orchards from December
to the end of January each year.
